Today, I want to give you a really good and inexpensive tip for hair growth or thicker hair.

While I do sell different hair growth products, today, I just want to give you a simple tip to help promote hair growth.

My #1 tip for hair growth and thicker hair is to consume gelatin. You could use either gelatin, unflavored and unsweetened Jell-O, or hydrolyzed collagen.

How gelatin can potentially help increase hair growth:
• It’s 99% protein
• It has amino acids and peptides
• It increases blood flow and blood volume

In a few interesting studies, they saw a 50% increase in hair growth, a substantial increase in the diameter of the hair, and an increase in the number of hairs.

Gelatin may help provide the raw material needed and boost blood flow to add some additional help when it comes to hair growth—even if there is an autoimmune component or genetic weakness.

You may want to try 10 to 14 grams (1 Tbsp) of gelatin powder per day with L-cysteine or NAC and saw palmetto.

  1. My grandmother used to make us eat the gristle of the chicken bones and chew up the bones to get to the bone marrow. My friends would laugh and think it was weird that we ate the bone joints but now that I’m nearly 50 and have a full head of hair while everyone seems to be balding around me, I thank my grandmother for making me healthy before I knew what healthy was.

    1. We used to do that as kids as my dad would do it and we just copied him, my family lived off the land for thousands of years.

  2. What quantity of powdered Gelatin should one consume in a day?? Also, are there better ways one can consume it or provided you take that particular amount in a day?

  3. Dr. Berg, you are telling the TRUTH I remember as a small kid my Mother gave us this and my hair grew with thickness and body. I think I need to pick this regimine back up Thanks

  4. Good afternoon Dr.Berg,
My seborrea condition has been lasting for 2 decades by now, I began losing my hair in early 2000’s ,I usually have an organic diet, I am not a complete veggy one ,it is based on eggs, lot of fish ,lentils, whole meal crops, cereals and some fruit.I cannot have beef not poultry. The dermathologist informed me that my hair does not grow properly as ,the seborrea rots my follicles.
I have a healthy diet as I have just mentioned though,to re-grow my hair she said I would require to take for 9 months Dustaride or Finastaride and then some organic shampooing ,you know.

  5. Jello works great for nails however one needs to be consistent in consuming jellatin. Since it works for nails, it works for hair growth…great stuff n so tasty.
Thank you for reminding me to get some, doc.

  6. Hello Doctor,
Have you ever get a chance to study about curry leaves and Goose Berry(you could find in Indian grocery stores) and its benefits in hair growth.

    1. @Quick Tech Tutorials I use it as a weekly scalp treatment — I heat it and add a few drops of rosemary oil, then leave it on my hair for a few hours with a shower cap on to keep the heat in. In my experience, amla oil is mainly useful to prevent hair shedding rather than encourage growth (that’s what the rosemary is for) but after a few months of using it, I barely shed any hair at all anymore.

  7. No problems with hair loss for myself or my family, but gelatin helps a lot with my chronic knee ligament injury (MCL)

    1. If you are chronically irritating your MCL, check your glute function. They scar over quickly if you stop bending your knee the wrong way. Tip: fix your neural length.

    2. @Strait upno kicker Well I’ve never had an MRI, so I’m somewhat guessing at the MCL diagnosis. But I can’t bend the knee all the way and it swells/hurts if I walk long distances. I keep the muscles strong, so it doesn’t bother me in daily life.
Can you give some pointers on “fix your neural length”?

    3. Me too I used it once and amazing for my joints I kind of disagree though with the amino acids though because some can cause lack of balance in your system So now I just eat the right foods I had alopecia and a bald spot and I’m 72 Yrs I now use a Rosemary shampoo and believe me No bald spots now My hair grew back in two shampoos with it and I thought a trip to the Dr would solve it? Amazing too

    4. @PeachesCourage I don’t have bald spot but I have thinning hair… it used to be really thick :/… can you tell us what brand rosemary shampoo you used? Can I find it at Whole Foods?

  8. The way this guy delivers information is absolutely outstanding.
After being on youtube since its beginning, and out of all of the youtube channels of any genre that I’ve seen, I declare this channel to be in the top 5 channels of all time.

    1. I have used rosemary to regrow my hair and it truly works I read something years ago tell us that any* oil on your hair will Not allow hair to grow because you are blocking the cells that need to breath for growth of hair So now I am using a shampoo and on any place like eye lashes too very carefully and rinse off All of the claims for anything else with oils won’t work the Dr’s are saying

  9. Someone mentioned folks loosing hair from the vaccine. But Covid does that too. My unvaccinated friend caught covid during the Delta wave, was hospitalized twice and lost half her hair. It took many months for her hair to start growing back and she still has bald spots. I’m going to recommend collagen. Thanks.

  10. Dr. Berg I LOVE your hair formula supplement! I saw results within the first month! I’m now a dedicated customer.

  11. Hello doctor Berg. You have mentioned tablets, which ones are you referring too.
To substitute knox gelatin, what can vegetarian’s consume ?
    Thank you,

  12. Dr, Berg – what about hair loss due to psoriasis? Any inexpensive tips on how to alleviate psoriasis? The dermatology route is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!

  13. 3 weeks ago I started taking saw palmetto and the NAC supplement. The results that I have noticed thus far is that my hair is not shedding between my fingers as I comb my fingers through my hair.
