How do we take an appointment?

Coming over for a personal consultation with our maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Sunil Richardson is the best option. We are located physically near the southernmost tip of India, a town named Nagercoil near Kanyakumari.
However, we have other options for patients from far and wide, who can’t travel for a direct physical consult.

  1. Then how you determine as an experienced surgeon whether a patient is thick skinned or thin skinned during rhinoplasty?
How to differentiate between thick skinned and thin skinned patient?

    1. @Richardsons Face Hospitals Could the area of the scalp where the hair loss is be completely removed and replaced with a scalp from a donor? They say the hair continues to grow after death so I’m thinking if the hair follicles from the donor are still active it could work. Would that be possible? Has it ever been done?

    2. @KGS _71 hello. I am at university studying biological anthropology; when you say that it’s said the hair grows after death, what really happens after death is that the skin recedes and decomposes, making the hair appear longer, as more hair is exposed. You could potentially do a scalp transplant, as is often offered to those with extensive burns, however, there are risks associated with scalp transplant from another person. The immune system of the recipient of the donor flesh can reject it and this can lead to problems as they may be left with no scalp as it has to be removed. Also there will be scarring. And if the greatest care isn’t taken in the removal of the donor scalp from the donor, then the nerves and skin cells/ blood vessels etc may be damaged and this can lead to problems with hair growth. Also if you have a transplant you need to be on immunosuppressive drugs to help prevent rejection of the tissue, which can put the individual at greater risk of serious infection from other causes. Generally not a good idea, but plausible.

    3. @C C Thank you for the reply. Now I see that the risk are greater than the reward. I have an unusual form of hair loss that is called alopecia. I have researched treatment options but none of it is gauranteed to work. I hope they can come up with something. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me, your information was very helpful.

    4. @KGS _71 ahh, which type of alopecia have you got? Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder, where your own hair follicles are attacked by your own immune system. If they can find out exactly what causes this autoimmune response I would guess that would be the best way to treat it. Have you tried intralesional Corticosteroid injections? The steroids act by suppressing the immune reaction. I hope with advances in medicine it will get better, and more effective treatments are made available

    5. @C C It started 23 years ago. Not sure which type I have. I had the injections about 10 years ago but no luck. I remember having the shingles on my upper back and the hair loss on my scalp started around that time.

  2. Sir is there any soultion for cobblestonning appearance of hair transplant
