I believe I am suffering from Alopecia. I started losing hair when I was 16 and I am 31 years old now. The reason I believe it is alopecia is because I starting to experience beard loss too now.
You are right. Mine started at 13 as well with a small patch that grew back quickly. Alopecia starts in a small circle. It then goes in the direction of your hair pattern. Just like when a Barber curs your hair, he follows your hair pattern.

Alopecia just means hair loss. The specific type of hair loss they’re talking about is alopecia areata. I have androgenetic alopecia. It sucks, but I’m grateful that I found a doctor who prescribes dutasteride and oral minoxidil. I’m sympathetic toward all people who have hair loss disorders. I hope this newly FDA-approved drug turns out to be a game changer and helps people with this disease.
