But it is important to know that women may also experience hair loss from other varied causes. These causes include medical (ie.thyroid), hormonal, pregnancy, perms (chemical), braids (traction alopecia) and many others.

When exploring hair loss treatment options and setting expectations for hair growth after a hair transplant its important to understand what type of female hair loss you suffer from. 2. This is my story to a Tee. I suffered through hair loss as a kid it got worse as i got older, so I automatically assumed it was traction alopecia, and i ended up going to Mexico for a discount transplant, and did it work.l?… not really. The hair kinda grew alittle but within a year or so i was just as bald as before the transplant. Then 2 years ago I went to a black woman dermatologist who specialize in black women’s hair loss, got a biopsy and ofcourse Scarring alopecia!!! it was pretty heartbreaking to know that this might be permenant… So the past 2 years I have been treating my condition with a combination of oral treatment , topical creams, and cortisone shots. And alot of hair grew back ( still very thin) but alot of hair even from the transplanted area from the Mexico treatment grew back. Now that I educated myself on my condition and i have been treating it consistently and my hair has grown back a little and actually re remained on my head for about 2 years now, I am interested in a brand new transplant on my treated scalp to see if it will actually work better this time. The only couple reasons why I haven’t actually tried a second transplant is cause my doctor doesn’t except care credit anymore, and i can’t give her $8000 all at once, and I haven’t seen too many videos of women getting transplanted with scarring alopecia and seeing results and feedback. Actually jane is the only girl I have seen…. I’m routing for you Jane!!!! Pleeeeeeaaaaaasssse do a follow up video on this one, cause it means so much to use girls who might have lost hope with our condition.

  4. Thank you for this video! I always assumed that I had traction alopecia even though I’ve always been cautious with my hairstyle choices. Getting the results of the biopsy has been empowering even though it adds a new dimension to my situation. Natural Hair transplants are still my first choice. Very eager to see Jane’s results.
